In her 9 hour & 3 days performance, Yingmei Duan created a dark wasteland, peopled by five characters lost in a catastrophe: a piano player, a devil, a child, an old crazy man and a naked woman. Descending into a melancholic landscape, the audience followed narrow paths through tons of rubbish in the sound of broken pieces of piano music. Yingmei Duan, moved slowly in tiny steps seeking contact. She became the centre of which everything revolved. Vulnerable and strong at the same time, Yingmei Duan drew the audience into the filmic scene among the leftovers of civilization. Everyone became part of the scene: who is looking at who, and why? Uncertainty, beauty and sadness filled the room.
